"Dirty" Al GallagherField Manager Alan Mitchell Edward George Patrick Henry Gallagher played college ball at Santa Clara University where he got drafted in the first round (14th) by the hometown San Francisco Giants in 1965. Dirty Al played four seasons with the Giants before finishing up with one year for the California Angels. Gallagher played third base and was named to the 1970 Topp's All Rookie Team. Mr. Gallagher earned his nickname while in the minors when refusing to wash ANY part of his uniform during a long hitting streak. The veteran skipper has won over 19 year managerial career. This is Al's first year with the St. Joe Blacksnakes after managing the Kansas City T-bones last season. |
