'Snakes Getting in the Spirit

The holiday season is in full swing, and the St. Joe Blacksnakes are getting in the spirit with two free instructional baseball camps this Friday and Saturday, December 22nd and 23rd. The camps will be held at Hardball, 603-A North Belt in St. Joe. Children will be divided between two sessions each day, the first lasting from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon for younger children, and the second session for older children lasting from 2:00 until 4:00 pm.
The Blacksnakes’ Holiday Camp program is made possible by a number of community partners, including WalMart, McDonald’s, Performance Plus Rehabilitation Center, Auto Glass, Stevenson’s Family Pharmacy, Rent All, The Diamond Club, Ken Smith Auto Body, The Dillon Company, Dr. Patricia Boyce, Ag Processing, Mary Scott, and Don Evans Realty.
Various members of the 2006 Blacksnakes team, such as Manager Chris Carminucci, first baseman Mark Burke, and pitcher Matt Johnson will be appearing each day to teach campers tips and techniques. There will be a barbeque provided by Hy-Vee and Pepsi after each session in which hot dogs and soda will be available. All children are welcome to sign up, however each child must be pre-registered to participate. These camps have already proven to be extremely popular, and are currently 80 percent filled.You can register your child for the camp by picking up a sign-up sheet from Hardball or the YMCA, or by calling the Blacksnakes’ office directly at 279-6777.
The St. Joe Blacksnakes will begin their second season of play at home on May 10th, 2007, taking on the St. Paul Saints at 7:05 pm. Season tickets and inaugural season memorabilia are on sale now. Call the Blacksnakes at 816-279-6777 for more information or to reserve your tickets.
