New Hitting Coach Brings Distinguished Career to the Blacksnakes

St. Joseph- On March 20, 2007, new Field Manager "Dirty" Al Gallagher announced Pete LaCock as the Blacksnakes hitting coach. Pete's playing experience includes five minor league seasons and nine major league seasons. In 1977 and 1978, Pete hit .303 and .295 respectively for the Kansas City Royals. A career .257 hitter in the Major Leagues, Pete LaCock has spent his post playing days as a Roving Hitting Instructor and Field Manager for several different organizations.
With a strong work ethic, geared towards teaching the position players proper hitting and fielding mechanics, Pete brings a professional touch to the Blacksnakes Organization. "I am honored to be afforded the opportunity to help this organization put a first class offense on the field," said the new Hitting Coach. "Chris Carminucci and Mark Burke did a fine job last season of setting a winning precedent in St. Joe. AL and I look forward to taking on the challenge of continuing a winning tradition for St. Joe."
