Game notes from Eric Forman
Monday, May 21, 2007
Hello all, Eric Forman here with your game notes from Sunday May 20th.
St. Joe picked up their third win of the year Sunday behind stellar relief pitching and clutch hitting. Opening day starter David Glick battled control problems walking six Saint batters in three innings of work. He was bailed out by Kellen Raab, the left hander pitched five and one third innings of two hit no earned run baseball striking out seven. Tim Vasquez came on with one out in the ninth inning to record his second save in three days.
The offense was led by third baseman Chad Sosebee who went three for five with two rbi’s, two runs scored and a pair of doubles. Sosebee, normally a shortstop, is playing third base while normal starter Brian Rios is out with a leg injury. In all the Blacksnakes collected ten hits with eight out of nine starters getting hits.
It was a great win for the Snakes and hopefully they can build off it starting this week in Lincoln before we return home to play Sioux City.
