Blacksnakes pull out the win in the eleventh

June 19th was the first game of the season's only series between the St. Joe Blacksnakes and the Southern Division leading El Paso Diablos. The game started off scoreless for the first one and a half innings but then the Blacksnakes picked up the tempo. The Blacksnakes went through the entire line-up in the second inning recording 5 hits and the Diablos having one error. It all started with a single by David Fowler, followed up by RBI's by Yount, Padilla, Gordon, and Miaso; giving the Blacksnakes a 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, Fowler started off the inning with a single and then Yount hit his fourth homerun of the season, giving the Blacksnakes a 6-0 lead over the south division leaders.
In the 6th inning, the Diablos began to answer back scoring two runs and then they scored 4 more in the seventh to tie the game at 6.
In the eleventh inning, Padilla hit a single, and then Gordon hit a single to shortstop, a dropped ball at second base prevented the double play. On the next play Gordon stole second and when the ball was overthrown took third base as well. Miaso then hit the sacrifice fly to right field that allowed Gordon to score the game-winning run.
