The Blacksnakes have agreed to be the charter organization for a new Venture Crew in St. Joseph.
Venturing is a relatively new youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America designed for young men and women who are 14 to 20 years of age. The purpose of Venturing is to prepare young people to become responsible and caring adults. This Venturing Crew will focus on the total baseball experience, from team management to playing the game.
The Crew members will have a “back stage pass” to the Blacksnakes as they work with the players and management to learn about sports management, field maintenance, marketing, team development, talent scouting, proper nutrition and exercise, off-season preparation, and more. The Venturers will also work with Blacksnake coaches and players to put on clinics for young baseball players and participate in community events in St. Joseph and the surrounding area.
